With the resumption of the normal Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) schedule this year, OLLU returned to the top for the 2021-2022 RRAC All-Sports Award! 🎉😇 The Saints' athletic program claimed the award for the eighth time in nine years, missing out only on last year's trophy in a streak that stretches back to 2013-2014.  Early voting is officially underway in the Texas primary run-off election. Ballots will feature both state and local races. Early voting will be open through Friday, May 20. Election day is May 24. Beto O’Rourke will be back in San Antonio Friday. The Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas will be holding a People of Texas Town Hall at VFW Post 76 on 10th Street. The event will start at 6 P.M. Austin will be the first major Texas city to use local tax dollars to give cash to low-income families in efforts to keep them housed as the cost of living skyrockets. Under the yearlong one million dollar program, the city will send monthly checks of $1,000 to 85 needy households at risk of losing their homes — an attempt to prevent more people from becoming homeless. The Northside Independent School District is implementing new hiring incentives in hope of enticing more teachers to apply Instagram users in Texas are no longer able to use some of the filters on the app. The change is a deliberate move made by Meta, Instagram’s parent company, after it was sued by the state. The change, which went into effect on Monday May 9, occurred after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit in February accusing Facebook, which is owned by Meta, of misusing facial recognition technology. The Colorado man who set himself on fire in front of the Supreme Court in an apparent protest against climate change has died. Friends of the the climate OLLU’s women’s tennis team participated in their first postseason tournament since 2014. Despite ultimately falling to No. 3 seat LSU-Shreveport, the Saints fought hard and pulled off an impressive 6-4/6-2 doubles win. On this Mother’s day, to moms, grandmas, stepmoms, foster moms, moms in heaven, bereaved moms, pet moms and mom figures: we are grateful for you.💐 ♥️
