SAN ANTONIO— Do you know your blood type? Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in partnership with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center invites the community to participate in a campus blood drive being held on Wednesday, April 11, and Thursday, April 12 in the Sueltenfuss Library circle.
“Knowing your blood type is important especially when taking donating blood into consideration or during medical emergencies,” explains Julie Kneupper, Assistant Director of Health Services at OLLU.
The campus blood drive is providing the opportunity to donate blood and also find out your blood type.
“I’ve donated blood twice but before doing it the first time I didn’t know the different types of blood out there… I learned that when you donate blood someone with the same blood type has to use it or else it can be life-threatening to the person receiving it.” OLLU student Karen Whitmore said.
The blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on both days.
For more information, contact Julie Kneupper, Assistant Director of Health Services at (210) 431-3919.
