SAN ANTONO—Our Lady of the Lake University will soon have a recreational deck in St. Ann’s Courtyard.
Construction of the deck began last fall semester. The university’s Physical Plant Office said there is still no set completion date for the addition.
San Antonio Pro Decks, a construction company owned by an OLLU alumnus and her husband, was chosen to add the new area to the courtyard.
The idea to construct a deck outside of Sister Annie B’s Cafeteria was introduced by an architect, constructor and OLLU affiliates during the renovations of Main after the 2008 fire.
OLLU organizations and clubs will be able to use the area to hold informal as well as formal activities or events. Darrell
Glasscock, director of Physical Plant, said there are no confirmed events yet, but these will be arranged at the completion of the deck.
“We are certainly excited for events,” he said.
For more information on the construction and use of the deck, contact Glasscock, at drglasscock@ollusa.edu.
