By Desirae Martinez SAN ANTONIO—I started writing for The Lake Front the spring of my junior year and now find myself as a senior ready to graduate. I will always remember and cherish my time at The Lake Front, especially writing for the Cinemaniacs movie column. Because of the column and the fact that I’ve never been one to give good advice, I think it’s only appropriate that I let movies do the advising for me. All come from college movies and, while some are about teachers and others about relationships, they all offer something to really think about. “Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.” –National Lampoon’s Van Wilder “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.” –Animal House “You don’t need teachers or classrooms or fancy highbrow traditions or money to really learn. You just need people with a desire to better themselves.” –Accepted “Not all who wander are aimless. Especially not those who seek truth beyond tradition, beyond definition, beyond the image.” –Mona Lisa Smile “It was a good answer – not a complete analysis, not a hard question – but the point is, I did it.” –The Paper Chase “If I’m going to be a partner in a law firm by the time I’m 30, I need a boyfriend who’s not such a complete bonehead.” –Legally Blonde “Good teacher. He really seems to care. About what, I have no idea.” –Back to School “In this life, you don’t have to prove nothin’ to nobody but yourself. And after what you’ve gone through, if you haven’t done that by now, it ain’t gonna never happen.” –Rudy “You’re going to go through life thinking that girls don’t like you because you’re a nerd. And I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that that won’t be true. It’ll be because you’re an a**hole.” –The Social Network “You’ll have bad times, but it’ll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren’t paying attention to.” –Good Will Hunting
