SAN ANTONIO- Our Lady of the Lake University women’s volleyball team will be ending their spring season with their final tournament of the semester. The Saints ended their regular season in early December and have been training in offseason for their upcoming 2018 season.
The Saints have participated in two other tournaments so far this spring against top D1 teams in the San Antonio area and will end the season with a matchup against more NCAA teams in the Trinity Tournament.
The tournament will include different universities from around the area such as host team Trinity University, University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, University of St. Thomas and others.
“The team has been preparing for a hard upcoming season and I feel this tournament is the best way to end our offseason as competitive as possible,” head coach Jeremiah Tiffin said.
The tournament will be hosted at Trinity University in San Antonio and will begin games Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The teams will play matches throughout the day that will be two sets each.
“We have done this tournament for the past three years and I think it is a great way for us to get out of NAIA division and play some better level teams with a higher competition and game,” senior libero, Marina Martinez said.
