SAN ANTONIO—Want to win free San Antonio Rodeo tickets? If so, free tickets are available from the Student Leadership and Development Office and Residence Life for Our Lady of the Lake University students.
Every year, the two departments purchase a certain amount of tickets. They then, come together to pick and choose which Rodeo tickets they would like to have drawings for. The contest entitles the winner three free tickets, which includes the performance or concert, that is set for that day.
Residence Life, sent out an email stating, “We are giving away three tickets to the next three residents that walk into the Office of Residence Life together, and present their student ID’s, and tell the RA on duty, what they love about on-campus housing!” The SLD office is giving their tickets away on their social media accounts, or by drawings.
“We will be conducting some of the contests through our social media accounts, we also will be doing drawings for Rodeo tickets during some of our events such as the Black Panther screening so students who want to win tickets should come check out our events and social media, to see what SLD does for our students.” Coordinator of Student Leadership & Development, Scarlett Alonzo said.
Both departments agree that this is a great way for OLLU students to experience San Antonio other than being here at The Lake.
“Although we are all able to enjoy the beautiful OLLU campus, I have found sometimes that residents may not venture out enough to enjoy the wonderful city we are in or experience some of the fun, unique events that take place in the city. It provides an additional out-of-classroom learning experience, and is also is a fun way to say, “‘Thanks for choosing to live on campus.’” Director of Residence Life, Mark Center said.
“I believe it is important for our students to experience what San Antonio has to offer, we have students that are not originally from San Antonio and it is exciting when they are able to get off campus and have fun and see San Antonio on a different spectrum.” Alonzo said.
Whether you are in it for the carnival, animal competitions, or the music, keep an eye on your email and on Blue Nation’s Instagram for your chance to win Rodeo tickets that will have you yelling, “Yeehaw!”
