SAN ANTONIO- The vOLLUnteer Unity Council and The Office of Health Services are hosting a blood drive here at Our Lady of the Lake. The times to donate are April 11 at 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and April 12 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The donation trucks are located on campus outside, at Library Circle.
The OLLU community is being asked to donate if they can. Head volunteer lead, Branndon Frail said, “It is extremely important for people to donate. I started working and volunteering here because my son has cancer. He needs to get blood transfusions every week, so I understand the need for blood is high. Please donate if you are able to.”
Freshman and blood drive volunteer, Mari Shanahan said, “I feel it’s important to donate in any way I can, because I am healthy. I don’t have to worry about illnesses or hospital visits, and with donations, your healthy cells could lead someone on a path to recovery. Those who suffer with blood disorders and cancers, and those who need blood for surgery, they’re saved by donations from students like us.”
