Why did you want to be part of the Lake Family?
I applied for this position for a number of reasons. 1) I enjoy building strong relationships with students and faculty and OLLU is the perfect size do that. 2) I have experience providing information literacy instruction in person and online and OLLU has a great combination of on-campus and distant learners 3) I sincerely enjoy making a difference by helping develop critical thinking and learning skills that are used well beyond the classroom and 4) It is the right time and place! The OLLU Library is in the midst of creating new programs and services and I hope to help.
How do you like it so far?
It’s great! My colleagues in the Library are wonderful and very patient with my incessant questions. I am finding my way on campus and meeting new people every day. I am also helping develop new instructional services and plans for the future.
Where did you get your degrees?
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M (Whoop!) and my Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin (Go Horns!). I love being a hybrid of the two rival schools. I can relate to both sides really well and I always have a team to support!
Where have you worked before?
I have been so lucky to work in a variety of libraries and places. I moved here from Florida where I worked in a couple public libraries and at the Florida State University, Panama City campus. Before that, Â I worked at the University of Houston, Tulane University, UT Austin and A&M.
So, is coming to San Antonio like coming back home?
Yep. I haven’t lived in San Antonio before, but I definitely feel at home being back in Texas, among students, and in a city where breakfast tacos are plentiful!
What is one of the most important things you want the OLLU community to remember about you?

My primary focus is helping develop information literacy skills that can be used throughout life. That means helping anyone learn how to express information needs, access appropriate  information resources, critically analyze information in all formats, and create information ethically and legally.
