SAN ANTONIO—Bexar County has suffered from numerous fatal traffic accidents to minor crashes, most involving drunk drivers and highway construction. TXDOT revealed that most accidents take place in the loop of 410 intersecting with loop 1604, with a total of 469 accidents in 2012. However, in 2015 TXDOT released that $44 million have been used to relieve the congestion in the intersection. But San Antonio holds many roads that appear to be a threat to the city. The intersection of I-35 and 281 suffered from 252 accidents in 2012 and the intersection of 410 at highway 51 took last place with 38 accidents in 2012.
“I myself am a victim of I-10 and 1604.” Said Priscilla Correa.
Correa suffered from major accident one evening after work, she mentions that although no one was hurt, her car did suffer numerous injuries.
“I truly believe that the intersection is a threat to San Antonio Drivers.” Said Correa.
