By Lake Front Staff SAN ANTONIO—If you are currently working at Our Lady of the Lake University and are being abused in any way, refer to this link to seek guidance and help. The situation with Kesha Rose Sebert (Kesha) and Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald (Dr. Luke) has the streets of Hollywood in an uproar. Stars like Adele, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga have shown their support for Kesha in various ways, in hopes to prevent Dr. Luke for committing abusive crimes toward other celebrities in the future. Actions of abuse must be stopped in order to avert any further problems from occurring, and that is what the Title IX training at Our Lady of the Lake University is there for. The required Title IX training allows student workers to be aware that if they are being abused in the work environment, they should not keep quiet and let the abuse continue. It is possible that a victim of abuse may be wary of telling others about the situation because, as stated by Hannah-Beth Jackson in the UCTV video on YouTube, “like anything where you have a traumatic situation, it is perfectly understated”, but that is not how matters of abuse should be handled. There are faculty and advisers to help with situations that are similar to what happened to Kesha. Regardless if you are a celebrity or a regular person on the street, you do not deserve to be abused. If you would like to see the entire speech from the University of California, Santa Barbara, you can watch the video here.
