San Antonio- Who said Valentine’s Day should only be spent with a significant other? Planning your ladies only date in San Antonio makes finding cute activities for you and your best friends easy to have what is known as “Galentine’s Day”.
For those who currently view February 14th as just a day away for the overpriced chocolates and sweets to be on clearance, here are a few local events that are cringey couple free, and give reason to spoil yourself.
A mini road trip with your favorite singles to New Braunfels leads you to see handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts to add to your self care routine at the annual Valentine’s Day market. The market will be open Feb. 8, 9 and 14 starting at 5 p.m.. This will includes live music, great food, and plentiful girly kiosks. Mandi Jakubowski, owner and hand crafter of “Lone Star Bath Treats” participated in this years market and explained how her products are perfect to par take in this Valentine’s Day. “They are organic, PHD friendly and environmental friendly bath bombs, body scrubs and self care items”.
Another event to keep in mind on your single(s) celebration is the third annual BYH Galentine’s Day Party Feb. 9 at Bless Your Heart Boutique. If the colorful and unique architecture is not enough to lure you in, then stay for the waffles and mimosas. Laura Gorman has been part of the BYH family for four years and said “we’ll have a local make-up artist on hand doing air brush demos, pink and red lip touch ups and a lash bar”. This event certainly encourages the “treat yo self” mentality. h
In addition to the sweet off campus festivities, the Our Lady of the Lake University Active Minds club is hosting a special Galentine’s Day party of their own. Arts & Crafts along with cookie decorating and a photo booth will be free for all Our Lady of the Lake students. This night of fun will take place Feb. 13 in the Providence West Social Room, from 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m.
