SAN ANTONIO—Students at Our Lady of the Lake are encouraged to sign up for the CDP Valentine’s day luncheon. The luncheon has been set for February 13, 2018 at 12 p.m. in the Regan Convent cafeteria. This six year annual tradition is hosted by the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism (CSLV) and Student Leadership and Development office (SLD).
With both teams helping, they come up with an event that allows students and sisters to eat lunch, socialize, and maybe play a game or two of bingo!
“The CDP’s are part of our OLLU community. They show us kindness and love. The sisters keep us students in their prayers each day. The luncheon is a way for the rest of the OLLU community to show them love back and to share our day with them. They love to socialize with the students and to be up to date on the events going on at the campus. The students share the same love back and love to hear updates on the sisters. It is a wonderful bonding experience.” VUC Student Director of Programming Sarah Resendez said.
During the luncheon, students get to keep the sisters updated with events and the whereabouts of OLLU life. The sisters help students connect with them on a new level.
“Our students are able to connect with the CDPs and learn more about what they do or did for this institution.” Coordinator of Student Leadership and Development Scarlett Alonzo said.
Communicating with the sisters help uplift their spirits and keep their hearts in the OLLU community.
“It is good to see who has your back at OLLU, for the sisters surely do!” Sister Patty said.
