SAN ANTONIO- In honor of Hispanic heritage Month, the Our Lady of the Lake University Ministry Program hosted the altar making workshop at the library community room. Students were provided with a variety of materials like flowers and paint to complete the altar for their loved ones.
OLLU student Miranda Guevara said “I really like it, I never really celebrated el Dia De Los Muertos and through this workshop I’m able to get closer to my culture.”
On what the event offers to the students, the Director of the University Ministry Creighton Chandler, said “here you see people decorating and things that are special to their loved ones, their images and materials are provided for this.”
The series of workshops will come to an end on October 21st where students can participate in face painting and other activities. For more information on this event contact the SLD office at Sld@ollusa.edu
