A Light For Jane Ann Slater

By Chloe M. Brown

SAN ANTONIO—On September 20, 2016, Jane Ann Slater was presented a lamp post by the SGA student body. The light post is mean to symbolize the light that she brought to the community during her interim as president of OLLU through 2013-2015. Slater states that, “Light can’t grow underneath a bushel. It needs oxygen. And a light post can’t light up without electricity. While I was at the university, the student body was the oxygen, and the electricity to help me go on.” Here are some pictures and a video from the event.
