SAN ANTONIO, TX—Our Lady of the Lake is kicking the spring 2018 semester off with club rush.
Club rush is a event where all clubs and organizations join together in the mall area and present what they have to offer. Club rush is scheduled for January 31, during community hour. More than 50 clubs will be in attendance this semester, giving students the opportunity to find a club or organization that best suites them.
“Organizations set up in the mall area and are able to let others know what their club is about.” Audrey Alvarez said.
Also in attendance other than clubs will be the Greeks. Sororities and fraternities will be showcasing their chapters to OLLU students.
Club rush helps freshman, transfer students, and people looking for something new, get a little taste of what each club or organization has to offer. Club rush brings like minded students together and has become extremely important to not only clubs and organizations, but to students as well.
“It is important to me because it gives me a chance to get involved on campus and allows me to meet new people with similar interest,” Alvarez said.
At the club rush event the Student Leadership and Development Office is announcing the winner of four free tickets to the private movie screening of Black Panther. In order to enter the contest, students will need to go to Blue Nation’s Instagram and find the flyer for Black Panther. To be considered students will need to comment on the post and tag three friends. You will then need to screenshot the post and share the flyer and tag @ollubluenation.
Club rush is more than different clubs and organizations coming together in one location to show what they are about. It gives students a way to connect with people who they never thought they would connect to. It allows students to express their inner and outer interest. Club rush gives students peace of mind that there are compatible clubs and organizations for them at OLLU.
