11 people have been hospitalized after a man with a knife attacked students at Ohio State University on Monday, November 28.

The suspect, a student at Ohio University, was identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan.

Artan  was shot dead by police officers who responded to the scene.

According to officials investigating the case, Artan made a post to his Facebook page stating his intentions were to harm others, because he was “sick and tired” of seeing fellow Muslims “killed and tortured.”

Originally from Somalia, Artan came to the U.S. with his family in 2014. According to his Facebook account he had reached a “boiling point.” However, it is still unclear if he had any terrorists ties.

The statement also outlined injuries and other details about the incident, “Victim injuries include stab wounds, injury by motor vehicle and other injuries that are being evaluated,” read the statement, “at the recommendation of law enforcement, campus alerts for shelter in place have been lifted. Campus remains open during the continued investigation, although classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day.”

Students were instructed to hide during the attack and credit the university’s alert system for warning them quickly.

Police say there are no other suspects in this case.
