Fiesta Medal Unveiled!

Every year San Antonio hold’s there annual Fiesta. Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a one-parade event to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Since 1891 the Fiesta has evolved into one of this nation’s premier festivals with an economic impact of more than $284 million for the San Antonio area. The funds raised by official Fiesta events provide services to San Antonio citizens throughout the year. That commemoration still takes place, but for more than a century, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures. This year 2016 marks Fiesta’s 125th anniversary! Our Lady of the Lake has continually participated in the Fiesta for many years, this year is no exception. Many organizations make Fiesta medals every year, medals are sold, traded and awarded during all activities. Be sure to get OLLU’s Fiesta Medal for 8 dollars in the bookstore! Our Lady of the Lakes  Opening ceremonies for Fiesta will be held on Thursday, April 14th at the Alamo. Admission is free so come on out!
